My Journey

From Curiosity to Calling

What began as curiosity about the unexplained gradually became something much more personal.

My early exploration into the paranormal led me to become a paranormal investigator, eventually becoming part of a group whose work was featured in a documentary. At the time, I couldn’t have known that this was simply one of the first doors opening.

That curiosity led me deeper into understanding energy, intuition and the unseen aspects of our lives. I discovered Reiki, became a practitioner, and eventually a Reiki Master Teacher, allowing me not only to work with others but to teach and support those beginning their own journeys.

But my path continued to unfold.

Over the years, I was introduced to teachers, healers and traditions that took me far beyond where I had begun. I studied and experienced shamanic practices, worked with Peruvian shamans, and eventually trained more deeply in shamanic work myself. What once seemed like something belonging to another culture or another world gradually became an important part of my own path.

Looking back, I understand that none of these were separate chapters. Each one prepared me for the next.

Today, as Mother Owl, my work brings together the teachings, experiences, intuition and wisdom I have gathered along the way—not to tell another person who they should become, but to help them explore, heal, question and discover more deeply who they already are.

And just as I discovered on my own journey, sometimes the path waiting for us is one we never imagined we would walk.

And Then Came the Book…

As my journey continued, I began to understand that the experiences, challenges, teachings and unexpected turns along the way were not simply things that had happened to me—they had become part of what I had to share.

Years earlier, while spending time learning from visiting Peruvian shamans, I was told that one day I would write a book. At the time, I remember thinking, Me? Write a book? What in the world would I write about?

Years later, the answer became clear.

“From Mundane to Mystic” grew from that journey. It is not simply a book about my spiritual path; it is the story of the life experiences, questions, mistakes, lessons and discoveries that gradually helped me understand who I was becoming.

I share my story not because another person’s path should look like mine, but because sometimes we need to see someone else’s journey to recognize something within our own.

Perhaps there is a path waiting for you, too ~ one you haven’t yet imagined.
